D'Opus & Roshambo - 'Voyage' Video

We are excited to unveil the third and final clip from our well received debut album 'The Switch' (Mercury Switch/ Shogun Distribution), directed by Cameron Brown (director of Koolism's 'Jam Hot' and our own 'Million Dollar Bill'). The video for 'Voyage' is a nod to the speak-easy vibes of the 1920s, shot in and around renowned Canberra sites, the Julep Lounge and the Hyatt.
The video is our way of marking the passage between our album 'The Switch' and our forthcoming new LP which is due out late 2009.
We'd like to thank everyone for supporting 'The Switch' and are very excited about our new record which is shaping up very nicely, still staying true to the D'Opus & Roshambo sound, but both pushing it in new directions and paying homage to hip-hop sounds of old.

D'Opus & Roshambo - 'The Basement (f. Hancock Basement)' Remixes Digital EPHi all, we'd like to thank everyone for all their support and encouragement throughout 2008 -- we are most appreciative. 2008 was a big year for us and things are looking good for the year ahead.
Our latest release 'The Basement' from our album The Switch is out now and features local kids Hancock Basement. For your listening pleasure, we are packaging this as a digital EP which includes dope remixes from Karton, Jono Fernandez, Ross McGrath (ex-Aston Shuffle) and even D'Opus himself.
The remix EP is also now live on iTunes, you can find it here.
Also, if you sign up to our email list (check out the box to the left) you'll get yourself one of the remixes for FREE.
The award-winning video for 'The Basement' (Best Music Video, Canberra Short Film Festival 2008), directed by Volley Films will also now available for your viewing pleasure on our website and Youtube at http://www.youtube.com/user/MercurySwitchLab.

Spring Swooping Tally for Roshambo #5 - so far, I've been very unlucky,
gotta protect my bald head!
We've been flat out lately, so D'O has taken a well deserved break over in
Asia for a few weeks, leaving me here to hold the fort! Thanks to everyone
who tuned in to me and D'O on Sarah Howell's Friday arvo DJ set on JJJ a
few weeks ago - I think you'll all agree that D'O did a stellar job on the
1s and 2s.D'O has also been down to the JJJ TV Hack Studios for the Steve Cannane's
new's Hack Half Hour on ABC 2. He was interviewed (along with Debris from
Hilltop Hoods) on the issue of gambling. Stay tuned for that one coming
soon to ABC 2.
Speaking on the J's - thanks to everyone that supported 'Million Dollar
Bill', it's still getting played at the moment as we gear up for our next
single 'The Basement' featuring Hancock Basement!. We've got a new video
for it coming soon thanks to Volley Films. In the meantime, you can check
our video for 'Million Dollar Bill' directed by Tony Prescott & Cam Brown
on RAGE and Channel V.
In other big news for us, the September issue of JMAG is out now and we are
very pleased to feature in the Home + Hosed section, interviewed by
Samantha Clode on our favourite 'hip-hop cliches'. Check it out.
Show wise, we've got some big things bubbling for summer so stay tuned.
Don't forget we'll be in Melbourne at the Hi-Fi Bar on Melbourne Cup eve,
November 3, supporting the mighty Muph + Plutonic, Drapht & Urthboy. It's
going to be a big one. We are also very pleased to announce that we've
also been added to the already massive line-up of the Trackside Festival in
Canberra on November 22 - looking forward to that one!

What a crazy month it's been, but we are enjoying the ride and looking forward to continuing to work hard over the coming months to ensure that our new record The Switch is heard by as many people as possible! We hope that everyone that's got a copy so far is enjoying it and thank you for your support! Big ups to Shogun, Beat Broker and all the
'behind-the-scenes' friends of D'O & Ro that are working tirelessly to help us get big things done.
You may have heard our new single 'Million Dollar Bill' which has been added to high rotation on JJJ http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/music/hitlist_artist.htm. We've just cut a very raw, but very dope video for the tune thanks to Downtown Brown and 'Steady-Cam' Tony — and we'd also like to thank all the people that came out to Transit Bar (thanks Marc & Sime) to help make the video a success. We shot the video over two days on a weekend, and while it was hectic, we feel that we'll have a strong video that will represent the meaning behind the tune and it's positive feeling! Stay tune for the video, it's coming
soon.
Simon and Josh at Volley Films have also been working tirelessly on a video for our second single 'The Basement' — it's looking really special and is very original. You should be able to hear 'The Basement' on air very soon when it's released.
We've got some shows coming up in Melb and Sydney shortly too (check the tour dates above) — and we'll be able to update you with more dates very shortly.
Lastly, we'd like to urge you to check out our man Carts2Deadly who is playing live at the ACT leg of the DMC's on 1 August at the Green Room in Phillip.

Big thanks to everyone that came out to our album launch for The Switch on Sat night 5 July at the ANU Bar! We appreciate the support and had a fantastic time! Much love also to Hancock Basement, Cris Clucas, Minky Faber, Scott Burns, Mathmatics, Axe Aklins, Bagdad, Carts2Deadly, Hau and all the emcees who got up with us and helped make it a special night for us! Another quick update to let you know that D and I will be joining Hau tonight on the JJJ Hip-Hop show from 10pm to talk about the new album and play live. D'O will also be doing a live DJ set! Big thanks to Hau and the JJJ team. Hope you all can tune in.

Hey everyone! Our new album The Switch will be officially available on CD, limited edition vinyl EP and digitally through Shogun on 28 June 2008. The first single from the album, 'Million Dollar Bill' is available for streaming on our Myspace page and Facebook page now, as well as our little Jukebox Player over there on the left, under our beautiful mugs (you can peep songs from The Question as well, while you're at it)!You can pre-order signed copies of The Switch through JB Hi Fi Online (peep the banner to the left there)!
We’ll be launching the album on Saturday July 5th at the ANU Bar. Tickets are $15 ($10 for ANU/ UC students). We are lucky to have Axe Aklins, Bagdad & Carts2Deadly representing for Canberra supporting us on the night. And, all the way from Sydney we’ve got Scott Burns + Mathmatics making the trip for the launch as well!
We hope to see you all there to celebrate the release of our first album with us.
